When my day started I did not know what to expect on the set with BMB. Sure I had reviewed his content but to actually be in the same room with some of the photographers can be a little overwhelming sometimes. This was to be a Petite shoot with Allie Jordan whom I had never met before either. I guess it is a good thing I am not shy because walking onto a set and not knowing anyone can be a little intimidating. I guess it is a good thing I have the Southern gift of gab because I just walk in with my hand outstretched and start introducing myself. My theory is they will either talk to me or not. I am happy to report that most do talk to me so that is good.
When I go to shoots usually it is the photographer and an assistant but this is where BMB differs from the others. He had a whole crew: light guy, sound guy and makeup artist. He is pretty intense. The whole time I was there he was asking me about what the members wanted and liked. He is so conscience of the members the whole time he is shooting. As a photographer he reads the member feedback we get in about him and on occasion he will email the member to get more details about their suggestions.
When I first got there I meet Jenna Valentine who is so hot herself that I thought she was there to shoot for us as well. She is cute and so friendly. She liked me even more when I shared my cream puffs with her. Everyone needs cream puffs in their life…right? Next person I met was Richard, the sound guy. He was so funny and looked just like Tom Arnold, it was really uncanny. He has done several mainstream projects and told us all kinds of stories throughout the day. Then I met Jorge, oh he is so cute and he does the lighting and also writes the skits for the shoot. Needless to say, BMB had a colorful crew that I knew would make the day fun.
Allie Jordan showed up and then the set really started hopping. First she was in the makeup chair with Jenna as Jorge stood next to her and went over the script. Busy, busy, busy….everyone had a job to do and they knew what they needed to do to get it done. The shoot started and it had a fast pace to it but not too fast. BMB constantly gave instruction to Allie on what our members wanted and how he wanted her to achieve that. He takes a ton of pictures for each set and then picks out the best ones to display on our sites. His theory is the more pictures you have the more of a chance you have to get something really special. You always take more than you need because you will never get that moment back, so take complete advantage of it.
I always try to stay completely out of the way when I am on set because I do not want to mess up the dynamics of the shoot. At one point BMB looked at me and said “here” and pushed the camera towards me. I was shocked at first because there I was standing with my little camera and I thought maybe I got in the way or something. The first thing I did was start to apologize for being in the way. He said, “oh no I just thought you might want to take couple pics.” Well that totally made my day. He gave me the camera and I could not believe how heavy it was. He had to show me how to hold it because it was so big. LOL No pun intended. He showed me how to focus the lens and Allie was such a trooper. He later showed me the pictures I took and pointed about how many times I cut the top of her head off. That is why I am not a professional.
All in all I had a great experience with BMB and I hope he will have me at a shoot again. This was one of the shortest shoots I have been on but the content is totally amazing, I can’t wait for you guys to see it. I have posted some the pictures I took in the photos category so have a look.

I think BMB is an outstanding photographer. His pictures are superb. Sharp, very clear, and good angles. High quality.
Hopefully he will be doing lots more for ATK Natural and Hairy !
